Cassidy's Spring Form Angel Food Cake
Posted by Cassidy Snow on
I have been making this fool-proof recipe for years. In fact, angel food cake has long been one of my favourite desserts. The light and fluffy texture pairs very well with fresh fruit and a generous dollop of whipped cream. That's exactly how I liked to dress up the tiny, store-bought, angel food cakes that my mom treated me to, when I was young. I still serve it that way! If you prefer a Gluten Free version, reduce the quantity of flour to 3/4 cup, making sure to use GF flour that is 1 to 1 ratio with Xanthan gum. - Cassidy
Pork Roast with Red Onion Marmalade
Posted by Donna-Marie Pye on
In reviewing recipes and classes we have taught over the past 15 years, we came across a recipe from 2013 that we taught on how to cook different types of roasts. Today's Weekend Recipe is from our lesson on how to cook a delicious roast of pork. From my years working with Ontario Pork, I came to appreciate the value of the pork rib roast - it's always tender and juicy. The sweet and tart combination of the red onion makes a perfect counterpoint to this cut’s full rich flavour.

Lemon Shortbread Bars

As soon as the snow starts melting and the birds start singing, and easter is just around the corner the first thing that I start craving is the bright flavour of lemon in desserts! Whether it just be lemon curd or a lemon meringue pie, or even these easy, yet so tasty lemon bars, I look forward to my first bites of spring citrus flavours!

Best Ever Turkey Meatloaf
Posted by Donna-Marie Pye on
Say goodbye to dried meatloaf. Our turkey version is outrageously flavourful and unbelievably moist! When I am in a 'total comfort food mode' I serve it with mashed potatoes and a green vegetable. But my husband will take a slice and place it in a hamburger bun for a classic meatloaf sandwich! Either way, it's "best meatloaf ever' compliments every time!
Butterscotch Budino
Posted by Donna-Marie Pye on
How this dessert has not become more popular?. On a recent trip to Costa Rica, while eating in a treehouse restaurant, I had this for dessert! And not once, but twice, it was so good! Budino is a sweet Italian custard-like pudding. While some people might be chocolate fans, butterscotch and caramel are the ways to my heart!
