Create an extraordinary holiday dessert that’s equally beautiful and delicious. In this three-hour class, we’ll teach you how to create Bûche de Noël—a traditional Christmas Yule log cake. You’ll learn to make this intricate cake from scratch. We will demonstrate how to make the sponge cake, then you will get to work making a chocolate-orange buttercream and then learn how to assemble your log. To finish, we’ll make meringue mushrooms and sugared cranberries to decorate your log cake. By the end of class, you’ll go home with a special dessert to bring to your holiday gathering. (Please note, due to time constraints, your sponge cake will be made ahead of time).

What To Expect In Our Classes: Great cooking is about more than recipes—it's about techniques. In this class you'll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors. 

  • You will work with other students in groups of 4, sharing workstations and equipment.
  • Classes are 2-3 hours, unless otherwise noted above
  • Hands-on classes are limited to 12 students.
  • You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class
  • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back
