Julia Child introduced French cooking to North America over 60 years ago and while she is no longer with us her influence is still in evidence today. To celebrate her birthday, we are making one of her classic dishes - Coq au Vin. While this might sound fancy, it is really just a simple French chicken stew that anyone can master. You'll learn to marinate chicken in order to enhance the flavour, we'll walk you through the art of braising - moist heat cooking, create a beurre manie (butter/flour paste) but we'll give you options for doing a gluten-free, paleo or dairy-free verison. You'll also prepare pearl onions for the stew, a classic additional step many people skip. Finally we'll show you how to prepare a classic French vinaigarette to serve with salad greens and serve alongside the stew. Julia will be so proud of you when you are done!

What To Expect In Our Virtual Classes: Great cooking is about more than recipes—it's about techniques. In our virtual classes you'll cook alongside our professional chef instructors live in the comfort of your own kitchen.
- Classes are 1 to 1 1/2 hours in length
- You will receive the Zoom link, Recipe and Equipment Information 1 week prior to the class time.
- Classes are fully interactive, so you can ask questions during the cooking session.
What's In The Food Kit: Purchase our food kit to use in your cooking class. Key ingredients and some pantry staples will be included. A list of what you will need to provide will be included. Pick up of the food kit will be 2 to 24 hour prior to class. Pick up at Relish Cooking Studio (sorry we cannot offer delivery).
Class Notes: This event uses dairy, however many alternatives will be in the package. The food kit will only contain the classic version ingredients.
