Gougères and profiteroles are all derived from the same type of pastry dough called pate a choux. Add some gruyere cheese and you have a savoury version called Gougères. With some simple tweeks, you can also turn them into a sweet version to make profiteroles. Today we'll walk you step-by-step through the process to create these lovely sweet French pastries. You will also make a whipped cream filling to serve inside of them and a chocolate ganache to dip the tops. While we won't make a savoury version, we'll give you lots of tips and information on how you can use the same pastry dough for many french pastry applications.
