Koreans celebrate the Lunar New Year (Seollal) in a unique way with traditions, family customs and delicious foods. We are thrilled to welcome Chef Mihwa An back to our Relish kitchen, as she shows you how to prepare many of the traditional Korean dishes of her childhood. Mihwa will demonstrate how to make the dumpling dough and filling (man-doo), then everyone will get into the fun of filling their own dumplings to make Korean Man-doo gook (dumpling soup) plus Na-Mool ban-chan (Korean traditional side dishes). Because everyone turns a year older with the start of each New Year (and not on their birthday), many people tell their children that they can't get older unless they've eaten some duk gook. We will finish the evening off with a traditional Korean dessert served alongside some cinnamon and ginger tea. Join us for this special evening with great blessings for the New Year!
The Instructor: Mihwa An
The Menu: Hobak Jeon (Pan-Fried Zucchini Fritters), Korean Man-doo Gook (Dumpling Soup) and Na-Mool ban-chan (Korean traditional side dishes), Maejak-gwa (Korean traditional sweet & crispy snacks) with cinnamon & ginger tea.
