Chef Hendrik Varju will walk you through the steps for mixing, pressing and cooking your own corn tortillas. Then he will create two traditional fillings - like battered fish and grilled beef. He'll share the secrets for preparing zesty salsas, pico de gallo, 'The-Best-Guacamole-You've-Ever-Tasted" and creamy cremas. Finish off the evening with a delicious caramel flan for a final sweet treat. Once you discover how simple and satisfying taco making can be, you'll gladly wave adios to the taco truck!

Meet Chef Hendrik Varju...
Hendrik was born and raised in Southern Ontario to a Mexican-born mother and Hungarian-born father (it's quite a story). Spending time with is mother in the kitchen allowed him to adopt her cooking techniques and cultural influences while she also learned to make her husband's favourite Hungarian dishes. Hendrik is the author of "Mexican Dinner Parties" and has taught countless Mexican, Hungarian and fusion cooking classes at Relish. He brings passion and authenticity to all his cooking along with a fun sense of humour.
