San Marzano tomatoes are known and prized the world over. The Mediterranean climate, the extremely fertile soil of southern Salerno province, and the perseverance and expertise of growers in the production zone have all contributed to their international success, crowned with recognition from the European Union in 1996 when they were awarded Protected Designation of Origin status.
San Marzano tomatoes are bright red in colour, have an elongated shape, contain few seeds and are not fibrous. They are enjoyed raw as well as cooked. They are most commonly used in tomato sauce, but can also be cooked au gratin, baked in the over, dried and preserved in oil, or even turned into jam.
We are very proud to introduce our canned San Marzano tomatoes. We have added a hint of basil, and the result meets our highest expectations: simply exquisite!
