A Tribute To Rose Murray
Rose Murray was a respected Canadian food journalist, cookbook author and food broadcaster. She was the resident chef at CTV Kitchener for several decades. She received numerous awards across Canada, was inducted into the Taste Canada Awards Hall of Fame in recognition of her contribution to Canadian culture and was made an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Culinary Historians of Canada. She was a Relish friend and we loved when she made her visits to our kitchen.
While her accomplishments were impressive, it was her love of entertaining friends and family and sharing good food that carried through all aspects of her life. Tonight, her good friends Chef Emily Richards and Elizabeth Baird, Relish co-Owner, Donna-Marie Pye and CBC KW broadcaster Andrew Coppolino will pay tribute to this icon of Canadian cuisine in a special evening of food and entertaining. We've put together a sampling menu from many of Rose's best-selling cookbooks. Emily, Elizabeth and Donna-Marie will both demonstrate a favourite holiday-inspired dish. A generous portion of the proceeds of this event will be donated to the Rose Murray Graduate Bursary in Nutrition at the University of Guelph to help support future food professionals.
